Owen Jay

With 17 years of djing experience behind him, Owen Jay is no beginner to the underground scene and is currently working on different studio projects. Based in Malta, he runs the Batti Batti digital label (www.battibatti.com) which in near future will also be releasing limited edition vinyl. Owen Jay loves hardware equipment and his home studio includes numerous analogue and modular gear. So far he music has been released on Underground Quality 036  (Memories of You Ep) and Housewax 01 (Spank).

His musical versatility is one of his strongest attributes, enabling him to play anything from smooth, jazzy grooves  to deep & dirty cuts,  adapting accordingly to the crowd. He may be considered as a vinyl junkie, however also plays on CDJs, so his sets feature a mixture of both formats. On a weekly basis Owen Jay is djing at various bars, clubs and events and holds weekly residencies in Malta.

Overseas, he has performed at various events including the Last UQ event @ Club Tape/Berlin, 20/44 Belgrade, Deepsystems/Brighton, Tresor/Berlin, Supperclub/Amsterdam, Club Geluk/Antwerp, Plastic People/London, Montenegro, Austria, Toronto etc. He used to form part of the reputable ‘House of Misfits’ and ‘Sonic Mecca’ organisations and is currently involved with Brian James ‘Unfocused’.
